Ucy urban bicycles are made of Mauro Tarani’s passion for creating elegant handmade beauties that have a “less is more” mentality and obey to the highest quality of craftsmanship.
Rieti is a city in Lazio, central Italy, known better as the fertile basin of the Velino River. It is also the birthplace of the UCY hand made urban bicycles (our favorite is the 8.2 kg 1F1, estimated at 4,350 euros), that are designed by Mauro Tarani and made strictly of Columbus steel and Fly-100 (the parts that receive the greatest stress, such as dropouts and bridges, are constructed with stainless steel). What makes them unique though, are their sleek frames: unique in their particular brand of welding—“fillet brazed,” a technique perfected by their craftsmen frame builders with 50 years of experience.
The result is a true object of desire: a product that combines the Italian tradition with the modern concept of the urban cycling tendency.
Urban bicycles that are sexy as hell, down to the bone.
