Overfinch celebrates its 40th anniversary and marks the end of an era for the iconic Land Rover Defender by unveiling a special edition Defender.
While there are many outfitters around, Overfinch is the undeniable global leader in Land Rover enhancements and customization. One of the first to make their own versions of Land Rovers, they have done so a number of times over their 40 year history, so it is only fitting that a special edition of the Defender was chosen to mark this milestone.
The vehicle not only celebrates Overfinch’s 40th anniversary, it also pays homage to the Defender’s heritage, following Land Rover’s announcement that it would be ending production of these legendary utility vehicles.
Fusing contemporary and traditional design, the 40th anniversary special edition retains the iconic bodyshape but introduces a range of distinctive, fully customisable features including Overfinch’s signature colour-coded bodywork and selected surfaces, such as a contrasting bonnet and grille, SVX model front bumper with integrated LED running lights, satin-finish side sills and rear quarter panels, painted mirror backs, specially machined aluminium door handles and fuel cap, a swing arm spare wheel bracket, a rear step with electric tow bar, and 18-inch diamond-turned Apollo alloy wheels in a range of finishes. The external design is completed by Overfinch’s trademark bonnet and tailgate lettering in polished black chrome with sandblasted inner.
The interior features two-tone leather trim Recaro bucket seats with a bespoke 40th crest stitched into the headrest to mark the anniversary. Overfinch extends the use of premium leather to the steering wheel, gearshift or range selector, handbrake and dashboard top, allowing buyers to choose from countless combinations of leather colours, contrast stitching, seat piping and more.
With additional contemporary touches, including sport-style instrument dials, a Bluetooth-connected Alpine satellite navigation and a reversing camera, Overfinch’s special edition is a fitting tribute to the Defender’s heritage.
Priced at just over £70,000 / US$100,00, this 40th Anniversary edition Defender is strictly limited to five individually numbered vehicles.
