Take on winter with the Nike Sneakerboots Collection

Moscow, Russia.

With Moscow creating the ideal backdrop, Nike presented the 2015 Fall/Winter Sneakerboots Collection.

Among the guests we met a number of Russian celebrities including rapper L’One, street artist Dmitri Aske, and Kate Shilonosova from the punk band Glintshake. The guest list represented the perfect union between sports and art: the same binomial we find in Nike products.

We saw an innovative and creative collection for men and women, featuring some of Nike’s best-selling classics, reengineered to withstand freezing winter temperatures without compromising style: the Flyknit Chukka, Air Max 95, Lunar Force One and Air Max 90 dress in winter colours, with waterproof materials, offering the chance to look good even when rain and snow rage. The new interpretations are as comfortable and as durable as their classic counterparts, answering the question: which shoes can I wear during winter?

No excuses. You can go out. In fact, you must go out. You can walk, you can run. On the road, on the grass. You can feel like a hero who can fight the cold, without giving up an ounce of style. Sneakerboots cover the middle ground between a boot and a sneaker: they’re as warm as a boot, and as stylish as a sneaker. In short, the Sneakerboot Collection is a line of sneakers which act as if they were boots.

We fell in love with the high performance of the Flyknit Chukka, with its wool uppers, rugged outsold and reflective laces, which can be sprayed with the Defender Repellent System to make them water-resistant.

We also loved the neoprene and heat-reflective insert of the iconic Air Max 95, the waterproof leather and rubberised toe of the Lunar Force One, the increased collar height and iridescent logo of the Air Max 90, but also the feminine and strong look of Air Max 1 Mid, Acorra and Dunk Sky High 2.0. Each in its unique way, every style in the Nike Sneakerboot collection is an example of how fashionable technical materials can be.

The new Nike Sneakerboots Collection will be available at selected Nike retailers and on Nike.com from November 5th, along with the first Nike Sportswear interactive ebook (downloads available for iOS and Android).
