Sweet Alchemy Pastry Shop by Kois Associated Architects

Athens Based ‘Sweet Alchemy’ Pastry Shop

Kois Associated Architects designed “Sweet Alchemy” for celebrity pastry chef Stelios Parliaros. An out of this world pastry shop that exudes a richness in materials and ingredients that’s rarely seen. Stop drooling, and enjoy Dolce Vita gone fantastically wrong…

Alchemy is a well known notion, associated with darkness, mystery and mysticism practiced in laboratories full of peculiar enigmatic devices, rare distils crystals and potions. This “Sweet Alchemy” store has nothing to do with magic, potions whatsoever, but truly can elevate one’s mood within seconds. But it was exactly these images of some other time and space that were the starting point for the development of the central idea: the actual transfusion of this atmosphere into a contemporary outtake (that pretty much seems to worship iron, bronze, copper and wood). And this is the proof that it’s often the path less travelled that leads to the most interest, when it comes to design.

The shop is located in the up market suburb of Kifisia, in the northern region of Athens. And the client is no other than Stelios Parliaros who runs the best Patisserie in Greece, author of many culinary books and host of a very popular patisserie show on Greek TV.
