Mercedes-Benz 2015 SL Mille Miglia 412 Edition

Mercedes-Benzintroduces us to the 2015 SL Mille Miglia 412 Edition, celebrating its winning pedigree in one of Italy’s most revered touring races.

Do note that the “Mille Miglia 412” editions pay homage to both the 1000-mile race and the number of the original winning SL, decorated with red racing trim through the front lip, rims, and rear spoiler (as for the interior, here we have contrasting red, matte black and grey across the leather seating and dashboard).

Made available in three paint finishes, Mercedes-Benz will release both a six-cylinder SL400 and 455-horsepower V8 SL500 to European audiences beginning April 7 – the former runs a twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre V6 engine developing 245kW while the latter uses a twin-turbocharged 4.6-litre V8 powerplant with 335kW.  But both come as standard with adaptive damping, with Mercedes-Benz’s patented Active Body Control system available as a option.

The seventh-generation SL, set to make its public premiere at the 2015 Geneva motor show, adopts the start number 417, worn by the factory prepared SL piloted by British driver Stirling Moss at the time, in its name: Mille Miglia 417.

The new SL comes as standard with a magnetite black metallic paint scheme, although buyers can choose between three optional colours: night black magna, cashmere white magna matte and diamond white – in a limited volume of 500 worldwide.
