Swedish car manufacturer Volvo has created a light-reflective spray designed to enhance the visibility of cyclists on city streets after dark, Volvo LifePaint.
See, road safety shoudn’t be for the few. It should be for everyone. The ones not driving our cars, and the ones who prefer two wheels to four.
LifePaint is a unique reflective safety spray. Invisible by daylight, it glows brightly in the glare of car headlights. Making the invisible, visible. In the glare of a vehicle’s headlights, fabrics and surfaces coated with the spray are transformed into high-visibility objects. LifePaint washes off, and will not affect the colour or surface of your chosen material, lasting for approximately one week after application.
The paint was developed in partnership with Swedish reflective spray manufacturer Albedo 100, which has previously created a similar product for use the fur of pets and horses.

Though designed for safer cycling, LifePaint can be used in all sorts of ways. Applied to clothes, shoes, and helmets, pushchairs and children’s backpacks – even dog leads and collars.
The partnership between Volvo and Albedo 100 was conceived by London-based creative agency Grey London, as one of a series of products highlighting the safety credentials of Volvo’s new XC90 vehicle.
