Fast and Furious Felino CB7

Canadian manufacturer Felino has unveiled its first model, the 1,135kg carbon fibre Felino CB7 at the Montreal International Auto Show.

Born in Quebec, the Felino CB7 is the vehicle that racing driver Antoine Bessette, the man behind the project, describes as “purpose built for the track”and yet street legal – with  the potential to be talked about by a lot of people for a long time. In other words, a culmination of four long years of research and development.

Built with a GM-sourced V8 6.2-liter engine, this curvy hunk of carbon fiber delivers 525 bhp and 489 lb-ft with rear-wheel drive and either a 6-speed manual or sequential transmission. Additional specs include gullwing doors, 18-inch allow wheels, steel or optional ceramic brake discs, and an independent suspension. The car measures 4,191mm in length, 1,930mm in width and has a 2,451mm wheelbase, a six-point harness, race suit cooling, removable (quick release) steering wheel and HID performance headlights are all available on the options list. Now shut your mouth, stop fidgeting.

And, although the Felino CB7’s performance figures have not been announced yet, it’s estimated to reach 0-62 mph in just 3.5 seconds. So do expect a starting price to hover around $100,000 USD – when deliveries begin in 2015.
