The giant geometric structure that makes up this Dodeck lamp series, designed by Thomas Hiemann and Markus Dilger, is composed entirely of wastepaper.
The Dodeck lamp series (XL and M models) is the result of experiments with geometrical structures. Each lampshade is a construction kit consisting of different single components with a plug connection. The Dodeck lamp becomes a centerpiece in any modern space. It creates decorative patterns on the ceiling and wall. The designers’ work is driven by hands on prototyping and manufacturing as the result of iterative draft design process. In this process they combine cutting-edge technologies, production methods, traditional craftmanship and materials, including collaborations with various partners.

It is available through Mergeshop in two different sizes and five colours. Each Dodeck lampshade comprises die cut components, which are made from Les NATURALS® cardboard. The cardboard is 100 % wastepaper and free of hazardous materials. Ah and yes, the Lamp is produced locally in Berlin.

And as for the Mergeshop…It is a sales platform by Merge GbR, founded by Markus Dilger (born 1982 in Stuttgart) and Thomas Hiemann (born 1981 in Dresden) after their Industrial Design studies at the University of Arts in Berlin. Note, before they graduated in 2010, they completed successfully a number of work experiences at Art+Com, Archimedes Exhibitions and Studio 7.5.
