Introducing Bosque da Ribeira, a 650 sqm residence, located in Nova Lima, Brazil, and designed by Brazilian architecture firm Anastasia Arquitetos.
The four level and 650 square meter Bosque da Ribeira Residence is situated in a residential neighborhood in Nova Lima, a small city near Belo Horizonte. This gorgeous residence is at the limit of an allotment, adjacent to an environmental reserve. So it naturally seeks to create a visual interface and a rather harmonious deployment with the environment itself, simply by taking full advantage of the forest and decreasing the higher volumes observed in the street.
The landscaping designed for the residence actually manages to accomplish the impossible: to complement and strengthen the relationship with the forest. Special kudos to Anastasia Arquitetos for that amazing leisure area, swimming pool and terrace that are indeed focused not only on the landscape, but also on the much needed privacy (physically preserved by the slope). As for the balcony with two levels of coverage, they created, to protect the house from sunstroke north and at the same time to light up the room without direct solar irradiation, it is simply a majestic example of great architecture, obeying to the laws of practicality and beauty.
We loved the sauna in the basement, as much as the social area of the ground floor (four long meters higher than the street), and the private areas of the second floor. To sum up, this is beyond a shadow of a doubt, probably one of the simplest, yet beautiful residencies completed within 2013.
