The latest version of Hublot’s watchmaking icon, the Big Bang Italia Independent Limited Edition, is the result of the collaboration between Hublot and Italia Independent, the Italian brand co-founded by Lapo Elkann.
The Hublot Big Bang Italia Independent Limited Edition is the latest in a long line of innovative Hublot timepieces that combine traditional watchmaking skills with inspired design and state-of-the-art materials.
For the new Big Bang Unico Italia Independent, an innovative material exclusive to Hublot, Texalium®, is introduced to the classic 45mm Big Bang case. A fusion of carbon fiber and aluminium, Texalium® retains the lightness of the carbon fiber while offering the advantages of a high-shine patina and the capability of introducing colour to the design, thanks to the aluminium coating.
The Hublot Big Bang Unico Italia Independent is available in two colourways, blue and gray; The strap is made of blue or gray denim with countersunk studs in titanium and a carbon fiber clasp, but thanks to Hublot’s now-standard quick and easy “one-click” interchangeable system, the owner can choose from a wide range of straps, changing the look of the watch in seconds. Furthermore, the watch is water resistant to 10 ATM (approximately 100 metres).
Featuring Hublot’s exceptional manufacture chronograph movement, the Unico, an automatic flyback chronograph which can be reset at any time, provides a power reserve of 72 hours, and houses a uniquely positioned mechanism with dual coupling and the famous “column wheel” and double clutch visible on the dial side. Taking no less than 4 years to develop, the Unico movement is the culmination of haute horlogerie; It has been designed, developed and manufactured entirely in-house by Hublot micro-mechanics, engineers and watchmakers, while the 330 components that make up each movement are individually hand-assembled. The Hublot Big Bang Unico Italia Independent is fitted with a display case back that allows for full view of the movement.
Produced in a limited edition of 500 pieces, the Big Bang Unico Italia Independent represents the fusion of watchmaking excellence, innovation and design. The watch comes in a personalized display case, complete with a pair of Italia Independent sunglasses designed exclusively for Hublot, handcrafted using high-performance adaptable lenses and the same high-tech Texalium® material as the watch for the frame.
