Located a million miles away in a northern beachside suburb of Manly in Sydney, Australia, lies the industrial-chic space called Donny’s Bar – was created by former Beresford staffer and Manly local Matt Clifton.
Serving Asian-inspired dishes in an atmospheric setting based on a New York loft, the dimly lit space of Donny’s Bar was designed by Australian architects and interior designers Luchetti Krelle, an award winning Sydney based, architecture and interior design firm established by Stuart Krelle and Rachel Luchetti.
“The brief was to create a warm and friendly New York style loft bar which would serve Asian style tapas and dumplings – on a tight budget,” the designers explained. “Avoiding overt Asian theming, we instead opted for a pared-back approach to the design.”
We absolutely loved the polished copper counter as well as the range of recycled materials that were used to transform the stark space into a dark and atmospheric bar with exposed brick walls and concrete flooring throughout Donny’s Bar.
Thumbs up, mates.
